Lake Johnson

From Windsor Ridge: 17 miles RT, 3159 ft gain, max elevation 11,148

Some say that Lake Johnson is the most beautiful lake in the Pecos Wilderness. It sits at the base of Redondo Peak.  I have never summited Peak but there’s a sketch of a trail and supposedly you can connect it to Santa Fe Baldy by running along the ridge. That would make this a very advanced route, but without the summits I classify this as intermediate. Sometimes there is a lot of blow down but occasionally the trail is cleared by volunteers.
