From the Windsor trail: 14-20 miles one way.

This was the route used by early settlers to bring supplies from Santa Fe to Cowles. You can do this by staying on the Windsor trail which takes you to the Santa Fe Ski area (shortest route), or if you can make it longer to include a Baldy summit on the way. You’ll need to arrange a ride back to Cowles or take the free shuttle from the ski resort to Santa Fe Plaza for the night, enjoy town, and then run back the next day. Or make this your last run of the trip to end in Santa Fe.
